Do you love trying cases, but hate using your valuable time doing computer research and drafting pleadings?
 Let Legal ResearchNow.com
provide you with a solution!

Many litigators relish being on their feet and examining a witness, arguing a motion, or explaining the nuances of their position to an appellate court.  But instead of doing what they love, they spend hours of their valuable time in front of a computer doing Westlaw/Lexis research or drafting another pleading.

There is a better way!

About LRN:

Hello.  My name is Richard Jans.  Through LegalResearchNow.com you can obtain my services as a former attorney with over 26 years of experience, including 21 as a practicing attorney. By engaging LegalResearchNow.com, you can get quality work product at a reasonable rate.

Whether you need to meet a deadline and don't have the time or staff to complete the project by yourself, or you just would like to focus on other portions of your practice, while still getting the necessary research and writing done on a timely basis, LegalResearchNow.com can help.

As a former attorney, I have assisted lawyers in drafting initial pleadings, discovery motions, trial memoranda, jury instructions, offer of judgment, settlement agreements, releases, and appellate briefs, including briefs filed with the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

My legal writing skills were developed early as I clerked throughout law school and was the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law Journal.  I graduated from the UALR School of Law in 1981 with a J.D. (with high honors).  In 1982 I graduated first in my class from the Graduate Tax Program at the Universityof Florida with a LL.M. in Taxation (with honors).  My research paper was selected for publication in the Florida Tax Review published by the University of Florida.

Prior to relinquishing my license in 2002, I was a member of The Florida Bar Tax Section, having served as Director of the Continuing Education division of the Tax Section.  I have also written numerous articles and made CLE presentations from Florida to Washington State.

Before I begin a project for you, you and I will also discuss the circumstances of my disciplinary resignation from The Florida Bar in November 2002.  You can also discuss this and all other aspects of my work with the attorneys listed above who have agreed to be a reference for me.

  • The relevant facts
  • The end product required, such as a pleading or a memorandum of law
  • The limit on the amount of time to complete the project if being done on an hourly basis
  • Your due date

All work will be done in compliance with Rule 3-6.1 of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.  Quarterly reports must be filed with The Florida Bar when a former attorney provides permitted services to a licensed Florida attorney.  As part of my services, I prepare for you the required report(s) for filing.  Please understand that as a former attorney, I am not permitted to have "direct client contact," as that term is defined in Rule 3-6.1.  Therefore, my highest and best use for you is not as a standard paralegal, but as an assistant providing a high level of service directly to you as a former attorney using the skills I developed in law school and years of practice.

Testimonial:

I've been an attorney in the Orlando area trying cases in both federal and state court for 34 years.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of working with Richard Jans both as a lawyer and as a paralegal.  He is extremely smart, hardworking, diligent, and has a thorough understanding of all aspects of tax law.

I have given him some very complex tax issues such as $500,000 claim that he has analyzed, prepared memos for my signature, and resulted in reducing the $500,000 to $5,000.  Richard has also assisted me in preparing to present expert testimony.

I recommend Richard without reservation.

Harrison "Butch" Slaughter
